CAE (Computer-aided engineering) — is a program or a software suite developed for calculations, analysis, and functionality testing of products or physical processes.

The CAE's main benefit is that it cuts the costs and time needed to intergate the product into the manufacturing process. The software makes it possible to forego the prototyping and testing phases.
