Shell and Tube Heat Exchangers

STHE is a program created for an engineering organization.
The main goal of STHE is to accelerate the process of developing technical projects and full-scale drawings of shell-and-tube heat exchangers in Autodesk Inventor CAD as much as possible.

The following restrictions were applied:

  • manual addition of bodies for multilevel apparatuses
  • manual specification editing with additional user elements in a solid model
  • specific set of apparatuses designs

Achieved STHE features:

1. Automated shell-and-tube heat exchangers designing according to TEMA

  • front end stationary head - A, B, C
  • shell- E, F, J, X
  • rear end head - S, T, U

2. Automated creation of the main types of heat exchanger and units and the specification of a technical project for an apparatus.

As a result, the time required for the following processes has reduced:

  • for technical projects development – by 3 times
  • for full scale technical drawing development – by 6 times

STHE is actual and currently used by the Customer.
